A Delicious and Nutritious Diet at Wellspring UK
Our students love the food at Wellspring UK! Wellspring's low-fat, low-density diet is filling, full of great flavours and lots of variety, and is easy for students to maintain when they return home. We focus on healthier versions of food that kids already love, like breaded chicken fingers, pizza, burgers, baked chips, and brownies.


In addition to enjoying the delicious food that is prepared for them at camp, students also learn to cook, shop for, and order out the food that will keep them losing weight on the Wellspring Plan. Our goal is to have students leave Wellspring as self-sufficient as possible, so they can feel confident maintaining their low-fat lifestyle in the kitchen, grocery store, or a restaurant.
What Will I Eat at Wellspring?
At Wellspring UK, we do not have any calorie limits or strict eating rules. Rather, we ask that students eat no more than 20 grams of fat per day, and that they record everything they eat in their self-monitoring journal.
Students are served 3 high-protein, high-fibre meals and 2 snacks each day. In addition to the entrée at each meal, students have unlimited access to the “uncontrolled food bar,” with low- or no-fat soups, salads, veggies, fresh fruits, yoghurt, cottage cheese, tuna salad, and other filling and healthy options. So students never have to worry about being hungry or not having options.
This eating plan allows students to become accustomed to filling up on low-fat foods rather than the high-fat, high-density foods that lead to weight gain. It also allows students to feel independent in their food choices, which is especially important during adolescent years. In addition, students have the opportunity to record their food intake and work with their Behavioural Coach to discuss how their food choices impacted their mood, activity levels, and overall well-being.

Breakfast:

- Toasted English muffins with sugar free jam
- Beans on toast
Lunch:
- Turkey wrap with salad
- Pizza with fat free cheese

- Bison burger with sweet potato fries
- Turkey lasagne
- Fajitas
