WELLSPRING UK: NOT A DIET CAMP
While there are other weight loss summer programmes that are effective in helping students achieve temporary weight loss, Wellspring UK is Britain’s only weight loss programme that changes behaviour so the weight loss is sustained and continued at home.

Improved diet and increased activity while at a weight loss programme will certainly achieve temporary weight loss, but in order for the weight loss to be sustained, and to continue, more is required. Put simply, diet and activity are necessary, but not sufficient for successful weight loss and long-term weight control. More important is changing the way students think about diet and activity. Doing this requires a comprehensive programme for changing behaviour.

Wellspring changes behaviour through intensive training on the set of behaviours demonstrated by scientific research to be necessary for successful long-term weight control. Then we utilise cognitive-behavioural therapy to reinforce the training, to develop healthy coping skills, and to work through issues that may be contributing to the weight gain and that could stand in the way of successful long-term weight control.
