Unprecedented Weight Loss Success

The weight loss results of Wellspring UK students are renowned—including both initial weight loss at camp and long-term weight loss once the student has returned home.  Every year Wellspring students have averaged 2.0 kg. per week of weight loss.  Most importantly, 70% of students maintain or continue weight loss at home.  These results are amazing, particularly when compared to diets, fitness training, traditional fat camps, after school programmes, or day camps.

Weight Loss at Camp

Since Wellspring offers a scientifically based approach to fitness and weight loss developed by leading scientific researchers, we collect and report initial and long-term weight loss data.   These results have been presented at major scientific meetings, including The Obesity Society meetings in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Long-term Weight Loss Success

In the 12 months leading up to camp, many students have put on a significant amount of weight.  This makes the long-term results even more impressive.  In two different follow-up studies conducted 6-9 months after camp ended, Wellspring students continued to lose weight at home, shedding another 2 – 4 kg, on average. An astounding 70% maintained or continued the significant weight loss achieved at camp.

Longer Care for Better Initial and Long-term Results

If you are deciding between a four, six, or eight-week session, consider the following graph and weight loss. The average weekly weight loss at camp is 2.0 kg. The average weight loss for a four-week session is more than 8 kg., and the average weight loss for an eight-week session is over 12 kg.

Eight-week students inevitably lose more weight while at Wellspring and once they return home. The follow up study for 2005 students showed that four-week session students had maintained an average weight loss of just over 8 kg, while eight-week session students had maintained an average weight loss of just less than 15 kg.
