The weight loss results of Wellspring UK students are renowned—including both initial weight loss at camp and long-term weight loss once the student has returned home. Every year Wellspring students have averaged 2.0 kg. per week of weight loss.  Most importantly, 70% of students maintain or continue weight loss at home. These results are amazing, particularly when compared to diets, fitness training, traditional fat camps, after school programmes, or day camps.

Since Wellspring offers a scientifically based approach to fitness and weight loss developed by leading scientific researchers, we collect and report initial and long-term weight loss data. These results have been presented at major scientific meetings, including The Obesity Society meetings in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

In two different follow-up studies conducted 6-9 months after camp ended, Wellspring students continued to lose weight at home, shedding another 2 – 4 kg, on average. Longer Care for Better Initial and Long-term Results

If you are deciding between a three, six, or nine-week session, consider the following graph and weight loss. With an average 2 kg. weight loss per week, 9-week campers have the opportunity to lose significantly more weight at camp than 3-week campers. Our research also shows that 9-week campers lose more weight at home than their 3-week counterparts.

As illustrated below, on average, campers who attended Wellspring for 3-week sessions had lost just under 20 lbs. (9 kg.) when evaluated at the follow-up 6-9 months after returning home from camp. Campers who attended for 9 weeks had lost an average of over 38 lbs (17.2 kg.) at follow-up.
